Greenbelt Authority (GBA) is a Government of Malawi statutory corporation established under the Greenbelt Act No.23 of July 2017 to champion large scale commercial irrigation farming in Malawi.

GBA now invites applications to fill the following vacancies:

Job Title: Human Resources Officer

Grade: GBA 5

Reporting to: HR and Admin Manager

Responslble for N/A



Assist the Human Resources and Admin Manager in the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, practices and systems that advance the skills and motivation of GBA staff.


•Assisting in conducting staff recruitment, hiring, placement, andinduction of new staff
•Providing assistance in carrying out Staff training needs assessment and conducting staff training and development.
•Assisting in reviewing existing HR policy manuals, procedures and systems to ensure best practice
•Assisting in conducting disciplinary, termination and grievance procedures in accordance with current legal requirements and provisions, as well as best practice.
•Assisting staff in implementing the performance management system of GBA
•Managing the GBA Leave data base.
•Assisting with development and management of the payroll.
•in liaison with internal stakeholders, regularly reviewing job descriptions taking into account changes in job requirements.


A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Human Resources Management or Business Administration with at least five (5) years post qualification experience in human resource management.
